About our Camp
Our sports camp is appropriate for all levels of fitness. Children are taught basic fundamental movement skills according to their age and ability. The skills and drill method of teaching in sports fosters confidence, fair play, and a belief in their physical abilities which is vital to any child in sports.
When children have the opportunity to learn a wide variety of physical skills, they acquire the basic building blocks that will give them the competence and confidence to try many different physical activities and sports. We call this Physical Literacy.
Developing physical literacy involves learning fundamental movement skills (FMS). Children should learn fundamental movement skills in and around water, on ice, or snow, and they should learn to control their movements in the air, typically when jumping and playing field games.
Campers will spend their time playing indoor and outdoor activities and games, doing crafts, and swimming. Swimming will resume again this year at Aldershot Pool and Lasalle Splash Pad. We love going swimming at camp. Being able to swim and feel comfortable in the water is an important life skill to have!
